From Idea to Action

Sustainability often lives on slides. We chose a different route: make people live it together. Richemont teams turned “zero waste” into a playful, high‑energy cooking challenge—where every stem, peel and bone had a purpose, and visible results were measured, not declared

A Shared Challenge in a Neutral Space

Format: “Zero Waste Cooking Challenge” — team menu with a zero‑waste mindset

Idea: Cook full‑fledged dishes using a whole‑use approach and creative upcycling

Approach: Mixed roles inside teams, ingredient exchange between stations, transparent waste tracking

Safety & Inclusivity: Kitchen safety briefing; vegetarian/gluten‑free/allergen‑aware options

What the Journey Looked Like

  • Theory First — a practical sustainability & culinary briefing: whole‑use techniques (stocks from bones and trimmings, crisps from peels, marinades/ferments), planning, and safe workflows.

  • Team Cooking Challenge — fast collaboration, organic role distribution (captain, sous‑chef, hygiene & safety lead), continuous problem‑solving.

  • Swap Market — teams exchange surplus ingredients to “rescue” produce and boost creativity.

  • Clear‑Bin Score — transparent containers for a visible waste metric per team.

  • Tasting & Awards — teams present and celebrate outcomes.

Collaboration Without Job Titles

On the kitchen line there are no titles—only a shared target. Engineers master mise‑en‑place, marketers track clear‑bin accuracy, and leadership rotates: the person who sees a solution leads the next move

What Shifted

The client requested scaling the format to 1,500 employees across teams and locations.

Teams left with concrete zero‑waste habits they can apply at work and at home.

Engagement was unmistakably high: fast agreements, mutual coaching, and confident joint decision‑making.

Why It Worked

No deck can replace what happens when people cook, improvise, and win together—with a score that everyone can see: almost empty bins and plates full of flavor.
